Brief description

 

Coga Style (read as CHOGA STYLE) is a dancehall type invented by the artist (Rafiki) himself, with the aim to help people dance Rwandan music and feel the hit. The message in his songs is about life and well being in society. People, especially youth, liked this style and now they are calling Rafiki “The King of Choga Style”.

 

 

Rafiki started music since 1998 and launched his first Album on October4th, 2008 with 12 songs which are now being played on all national and some regional radio stations. The album is already on market and is entitled ICA MBERE.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

He performed in most famous national and international concerts and festivals, and we can list some of them:

 

1.    The Afro-Caribbean Festival in St.Martin, 2007.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Rafiki in this concert to represent Rwanda, with another Rwandan-Jamaican artist, Lion Dee. In the concert many famous artists and groups were present, like YUNG JOC, MORGAN HERITAGE, JOSE CHAMELEONE (from Uganda), SAEL (from Martinique), IRIE LOVE, LAZA, YOUTH WAVES, SHADOW MAN, and many more from St. Martin and St. Marteen.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2.    KWITA IZINA CONCERT

 

Rafiki performed in this concert with the group P.Square, a much known group in Nigeria.

3.     JANGLE PARTY (Kivu Serena Hotel) – Rwanda

 

 

 

 

 

This was a concert prepared by 4REAL PROMOTION, here Rafiki performed with the group BRICK & LACE from Jamaica, RED SUN from Kenya, and many more other artists.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

4.    PANAFRICAN MUSIC AWARD (PAM AWARD)

 

 

Rafiki participated in the Pan African Music Award and won the award two times in Uganda, in the years 2007 and 2008.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

5.    TUWUKATE CONCERTS

 

 

“TUWUKATE” is a big concert which is held every year in Kigali, where all famous regional artists are imvited. Rafiki has been performing in all the “TUWUKATE” concerts with other Rwandan artists.

 

 

 

6.    FEATURINGS

 

 

Rafiki has made songs featuring with almost all biggest artists of Rwanda like Miss Jojo, Masamba, Tom Close, Roger Floge, Kassanova, and many more others. Also he featured with international artists like Proffessor Jay from Tanzania, and a song with Jose Chameleone is being recorded in the studio.
